Gunna Calls For Young Thug’s Freedom in First Show Since Prison Release

Gunna continues to escape the “snitching” accusations from the YSL RICO trial.

The “f*kumean” hitmaker performed for the first time, since he was released from jail back in December of 2022, at Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday (Sept. 9). During one part of the sold-out show, Gunna paid tribute to Young Thug by featuring visuals that read “Free Jeffery” across the stage — referring to the “Oh U Went” rapper’s real name, Jeffery Williams. Check out a clip of the moment below:

Young Thug was charged and arrested with several others, including Gunna, as part of a 56-count indictment RICO case in May of 2022. The A Gift & a Curse rapper, who was charged with conspiracy to violate the RICO Act, was released after entering an Alford plea.

“I have chosen to end my own RICO case with an Alford plea and end my personal ordeal by publicly acknowledging my association with YSL,” he said in a statement at the time of his release. “An Alford plea in my case is the entry of a guilty plea to the one charge against me, which is in my best interest, while at the same time maintaining my innocence toward the same charge. I love and cherish my association with YSL music, and always will. I look at this as an opportunity to give back to my community and educate young men and women that “gangs” and violence only lead to destruction.”
