Halle Berry seemingly reacts to her ex-husband, David Justice, saying the reason the two got a divorce is because she wasn’t “motherly.”
Berry and David was married from 1993 to 1997. “I was young and had only been in one real relationship before her,” he said during a recent episode of All the Smoke podcast. “My knowledge and my understanding, my wisdom around relationships just wasn’t vast.”
“I’m thinking, ‘OK, if we have kids, is this the woman I want to have kids with and build a family with?’” he recalled. “And at that time, as a young guy, she don’t cook, don’t clean, don’t really seem motherly—and then we start having issues.”
“We spent a lot of time apart because she was doing movies in this country, that country,” he explained. “Honestly, we probably could have made it if I knew about therapy.”
“She asked me to marry her after knowing me for five months,” he noted. “I said OK, but I don’t know if my heart was really into it. I didn’t want to make her feel bad and say no.”
David’s comments has since went viral, even sparking a reaction from Halle Berry herself.
She shared a series of photos via Instagram and captioned it, “Phew…! cooking, cleaning and mothering..”
