Ava DuVernay Announces Central Park Five Netflix Series Release Date [Trailer]

The famous director Ava Duvernay finally announced the release date to the docuseries you’ve all been waiting for.

 

Duvernay broke the internet with her recent tweet introducing the film “When They See Us” humanizing the five men who were crucified as The Central Park Five.

 

The four-part series is based on a true story of the five men involved in the 1989, Central Park 5 Case known as Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Raymond Santana, Kharey Wise and Yusef Salaam. These men were wrongly accused for a crime they didn’t commit andn suffered public scrutiny and years in prison for it.  In 1989, the group of innocent teenagers were accused of brutally beating and rape of a 28-year-old white woman in New York City’s Central Park, where they found her nearly dead.

 

In 2002, after the 5 men have already served 6 to 13 years in prison. Charles J. Tejada, a New York State Supreme Court judge was finally granted with the DNA evidence and confession to the crime that took place April 19, 1989 from serial rapist Matias Reyes.
