Tough luck for Kevin Durant.
Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals was supposed to be the night the Golden State Warriors forward returns to the court to begin their comeback after falling 3-1 in the best of seven series.
After starting out the game with 11 points in 12 minutes, jumpstarting the team, he then fell to the ground holding his leg in what ESPN is reporting to be a possible torn achillies.
Drake was on hand during the game in Toronto, and said a few words to him on the court while looking visibly upset at what just went down.

Following the game, the Toronto Raptors ambassador wrote a message to Durant on Instagram.
"Was tough for any of us to even enjoy that game tonight after seeing this transpire. Praying for our brother. That’s my only concern tonight is your well being. “The game needs me” is an understatement when it comes to 35. Please wish the best for this true warrior."
Durant's injury could cause major waves in this year's free agency class. He could opt out of his Warriors contract after this season allowing teams such as the Knicks or Nets to sign him this offseason. If the injury forces him to sit out the season, he could opt in the $31.5 million option, and stay with the Warriors.
It's going to be a crazy offseason.
He was not the only one to show his love towards Durant on Instagram. Others such as Cam'ron also went on Instagram to share their thoughts and prayers with Durant.

We live in a era where players put money, contracts and they’re health first. (As they should) but just to see Kevin Durant take the floor last night was special. I’m old enough to see Isaiah Thomas (pistons) score 25 on damn near a broke foot, or seen footage of Willis reed come back to help win a championship on one leg. So to see KD even get on that floor Gave me a chill. Everyone was questioning if KD wanted to play, if he wanted to still be a Warrior (this season) blah blah blah, well he answered the call. Now that he got hurt, some people are going to say he shouldn’t of played. (You’re damned if you do, Damned if u don’t) Because of so much media (social, internet, television) the narrative changes every 2hrs. (Everybody loved “The Greek Freak last month, now kawhi is the man) which is cool. But u can’t please everyone all the time. And I just want to thank KD for trying to put forth a effort that doesn’t happen anymore. And trust me no one is more hurt then he is. Of course physically, but as a competitor. My love and prayers go out to him. And I know he’ll be back better and tougher. 🙏🏽A real one.. 🤞🏾🤞🏾
