Ice Cube Admits He’s Not A Fan Of Watching Other Rappers Duke It Out

Ice Cube has opted for a cautious stance amid escalating tensions between Kendrick Lamar and Drake, advocating for peace — though he understands it comes with the territory.

While speaking about Hip Hop beefs on Canada’s E-Talk, Cube — known for his fiery diss track “No Vaseline” aimed at his former N.W.A crew —revealed he’s had a change of heart about rappers duking it out.

“Beefs are volatile. You always have to be careful that a beef doesn’t turn into a murder,” he began. “Back in the day, you’d do a diss record, but it would stay somewhat in the Hip Hop community. Now, it’s all over the world. All walks of life know what’s going on. And some people can’t really take that kind of humiliation. I don’t really like seeing rappers beef.

“I don’t think it’s necessary to have a great career. But it happens! Hey, it’s part of the game and I think when you in a beef, you can’t really hold back. It’s like being in a fight — you can’t really half-punch; you gotta go all the way.”

Meanwhile, less than thrilled with the drama, is Ice-T. Despite his own run-ins with LL Cool J, Soulja Boy, and the boys in blue, the rapper-turned-actor recently hinted that real hustlers don’t have time for all the chit-chat.

“I’m sorry if I’m not interested in current Rap Beef or random Male Gossip,” he tweeted on Friday (May 3). “I’m a HUSTLER. I’m only focused on the Bag,” he wrote on X/Twitter.

The feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake first ignited with the release of “Like That” fresh off Future and Metro Boomin’s latest joint album, We Don’t Trust You. While, Drake hit back with “Push Ups,” targeting not only Future and Metro Boomin but also Rick Ross, Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, and Ja Morant.

In no time, K. Dot fired back with “Euphoria,” kicking off a diss track showdown. The track list has since grown to include Drake’s “Taylor Made Freestyle,” “6:16 In LA,” “Family Matters,” “Meet The Grahams,” “Not Like Us,” and “The Heart Pt. 6.”
