For J. Cole fans the wait is finally over.

Late Thursday (Nov. 27) night, the Dreamville rapper announced that Friday Night Lights, his classic mixtape would be available on all streaming platforms. The re-release is in concert with the fifth episode of his audio podcast series Inevitable, which explores the making of the mixtape.

Taking to Instagram, J. Cole shared his excitement about bringing one of his most heralded works to his fans almost 15 years later.

“This is a very special moment for me. Been waiting patiently for this day, like a lot of yall have. I wanna say Thank you to everybody out there that kept these projects alive,” Cole wrote. “Even during all the years, they were not on streaming services, especially this project right here. “Friday Nights Lights” is finally available now on all platforms.”

“To have a full idea of what this means for me personally, you would have to know the whooole journey. This Inevitable series we doing is that,” he added.

“www . inevitable . live episode 5 is up now. 5 more to go in season 1. Love to everybody tuning in, it’s really something special. The Come Up, The Warm Up, and Friday Night Lights are all up finally. Thank you,” Cole continued.

Originally released on November 12, 2010, the songs on the mixtape were supposed to be on his debut album Cole World: The Sideline Story. Because his label did not believe the project was commercially viable Cole released the songs along with extra freestyles as a mixtape. Eventually, he had to redo his entire project. The only track to make the cut was  “In The Morning” featuring Drake.

Cole would produce most of the mixtape along with Bink, Kanye West, L&X Music, Syience, and Elite and Omen.

All of the original songs are in the new release except “Looking for Trouble” which was a bonus track.
