JT got more vulnerable than ever after sharing a heartfelt tribute to her younger brother, who recently passed away. However, it’s still unclear what the exact date and cause of his death were. On Thursday (Dec. 5), the City Cinderella rapper shared a series of posts on X, honoring the memory of her younger brother and sharing thoughtful notes and photos. “Lost my little brother,” the 32-year-old rapper wrote.
“Being the oldest, I really didn’t get a fair chance to grieve because I have to make sure he go away nice & my mom is happy… I love you, JR [white heart emoji].” In another post, she shared a photo of the two when they were younger, with huge smiles on their faces. “I pray you’re somewhere so safe & comfortable,” JT wrote in the caption.
THE Rise And Fall Of The City Girls
In 2018, the City Girls burst onto the rap scene with their debut album, Girl Code, seemingly solidifying their spots in the new era of women’s hip hop. The duo’s project included hits like “Twerk” ft. Cardi B and “Act Up.” The pair would go on to release two more projects, City On Lock and RAW, before ultimately calling it quits in 2024. Amid their hiatus, both Yung Miami and JT have released separate projects. In an interview with Complex earlier this year, Yung Miami opened up about their estrangement.
She revealed that they were in “different spaces” after releasing their latest album, RAW, but emphasized that they remain on good terms.“I had to really get back in my bag. People had just been talking to me crazy… So just going through s**t really motivated me to get in the studio and make music,” Miami shared. She admitted that RAW “didn’t do too well,” which inspired her to pursue solo music. “I think when the City Girls album [RAW] just dropped, and it didn’t do too well, and we was just trying to do our press run. The whole rollout of the album was just so bad because we was just in two different spaces,” she explained.
