Jussie Smollett made a rare appearance online amid the Coronavirus global outbreak.
The controversial actor was laying low from his Instagram account for about a year after while his hate crime case was unfolding last year. Jussie told cops that he was beaten and doused with bleach last January in a racist and homophobic hate crime, however, investigators later claimed he lied about the attack to advance his career.
Today, (March 25), Jussie posted a video on IG. In the caption, he wrote, “Quarantine day 421. Hope y’all are staying safe. Spread love and kindness… not Rona.” Take a look:
The case was ultimately dropped sometime in 2019 but in February, he was indicted by special prosecutor Dan Webb in Chicago. The 37-year-old actor pled not guilty to charges of disorderly conduct and was released on a $20 k bond.
