Justin Timberlake Announces World Tour & Shares He Recorded 100 Songs For Upcoming Album

2024 is going to be a very busy year for Justin Timberlake. The megastar announced the Forget Tomorrow World Tour to accompany his new album on the way, Everything I Thought It Was. In a new interview with Apple 1’s Zane Lowe, Timberlake revealed he recorded 100 songs for his upcoming fifth album.

“I worked for a long time on this album and I ended up with 100 songs,” he told Lowe. “So narrowing them down to 18 was a thing, and then, yeah, I’m really excited about this album. I think every artist probably says this, but it is my best work.”

Justin released the album’s lead single “Selfish” on Thursday (Jan.25) with the music video. The song is personal and the video takes you behind the scenes of the creation process.

While 100 to 18 songs was a tough decision, the pop star shared that he had a great time making this album, and it will have its moments.

He continued:  “I think there are moments that are incredibly honest, but also, there’s a lot of f–king fun on this album.”

The album’s title originates from people’s reaction after Timberlake played the album for them. About the title choice, he said:

“I think that’s where I came up with the album title, with everything I thought it was. I was playing it for people around me. They’re like, ‘Oh, this sounds like everything we know you for.’ And then another friend of mine was like, ‘Oh, this sounds like everything I thought I wanted from you.’ It was like that sort of phrase, in one way or another, was in the air. I thought to myself about how some of the songs are more introspective and some of them are more what I think people know me for.”

The Forget Tomorrow Tour kicks off on April 29 in Vancouver and rolls into New York City on June 25 at Madison Square Garden. Tickets go on sale for everyone on February 3 with pre-sale opportunities available for Citi Bank and Verizon customers beginning on January 30. For tickets, visit the official website
