Justin Timberlake is postponing his remaining tour dates after suffering an injury.
After making the difficult decision, the singer/songwriter took to social media to share the news with his fans who were looking forward to seeing him live on stage.
“I’m so sorry to postpone tonight’s show. I have an injury that is preventing me from performing. I’m so disappointed to not see you all – but I’m working to reschedule ASAP,” Timberlake wrote. “I promise to make it up to you and give you the show ya’ll deserve.”
“Thank you guys for understanding. Appreciate your support always,” the post continued.
According to TMZ, sources close to Timberlake revealed that the singer suffered an unspecified injury to his ankle that would not permit him to perform at full strength.
The postponement of the tour is another snag for Timberlake who has experienced a few setbacks this year. Back in June, Timberlake was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the Hamptons.
“As he left the restaurant, there was a patrol car seemingly stationed near the restaurant. He was stopped and, was arrested. Nobody was hurt,” a source stated at the time of the incident.
Officers on the scene reported that Timberlake displayed “bloodshot and glossy eyes, emitted a strong odor of alcohol from his breath, and showed signs of impaired attention, slowed speech, and unsteadiness on his feet.”
Timberlake told the officers that he had one martini but refused a breathalyzer with his friends on the scene. Following his detainment at a local police station, Timberlake was released from custody the next morning.
Eventually, Timberlake entered a not-guilty plea to a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence during a virtual court session Justice Carl Irace, who presided over the case, moved to suspend the singer’s driver’s license and driving privileges in the state of New York.
As he recovers from his injury, Timberlake’s next concert is scheduled for October 11 at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
