During an awkward moment at the 2025 Streamer Awards, Kai Cenat was compared to Diddy in a joke from one of the hosts.
The host, a fellow streamer named FanFan, had been preparing to present an award. It seems she was trying to engage the crowd and share a funny moment with Cenat; however, things quickly took a turn for the worse. “This year, as everyone knows, you broke the record for the most expensive haircut and the least educational university,” said FanFan. “Oh, and also, congrats on your new documentary with 50 Cent. That was you, right?”
Following the joke, cameras immediately looked to Cenat, who didn’t seem particularly amused. Cenat wasn’t alone; other attendees, like Tylil James, weren’t fans of the joke either. James swiftly came to the defense of Cenat, grabbing the mic and telling FanFan, “If you’re going to be on the mic making jokes, at least let it be funny. Have a good night.”
Cenat Wins Big At Streamer Awards
Despite that brief and unpleasant moment, Cenat walked away with three trophies: Best Just Chatting Streamer, Best Streamed Event, and Best Streamed Collab. Following the event, Cenat shared some encouraging words with his supporters. “I ain’t going to lie: to everyone that supports me genuinely, y’all make me happy as fuck,” he said. “I appreciate that. And I know people in here aspire to be shit, y’all n*ggas put that foot on that fucking pedal and go. Most importantly, keep God first. I’m not playing.”
Kai Cenat, a New York native, rose to fame via Twitch, an online streaming platform. With over 20,000,000 followers, the 23-year-old social media sensation is the most-watched streamer on its platform. Before his meteoric rise to fame, Cenat attended SUNY Morrisville to study Business Administration. In a 2023 interview with Complex, Kai expressed gratitude for his streaming community. “I’ve known people in my chat that’s been watching me from two years ago and they still watch me today and they still get entertained. As long as I’m able to entertain people and make them happy, that’s the best thing ever.”
