Kanye West is expressing a desire to make amends with JAY-Z. In a recent post on X, he revealed, “All my dreams have been about apologizing to Jay Z,” signaling a shift in tone after previously lashing out at the rap icon and his family.
Earlier this year, West sparked outrage with a now-deleted post that targeted JAY-Z and Beyoncé’s twins, Rumi and Sir. The children, just 7 years old, were insulted in an offensive tweet where West wrote: “WAIT HAS ANYONE EVER SEEN JAY Z AND BEYONCES YOUNGER KIDS. THEYRE RETARDED. NO LIKE LITERALLY. AND THIS IS WHY ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION IS A BLESSING. HAVING RETARDED CHILDREN IS A CHOICE.”
Though he removed the post, West followed it up with another shocking message: “I NEED EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT I TOOK THE POST ABOUT JAY Z AND BEYONCE’S FAMILY DOWN AND JERRY LORENZO’S FAMILY DOWN BECAUSE THERE WAS A POSSIBILITY OF MY TWITTER BEING CANCELLED BECAUSE IM A GOOD PERSON. I TOOK IT DOWN LIKE DOWN SYNDROME. GET IT. AM I RIGHT. FUCK THE WORLD. REAL TALK. FUCK EEEEVVEEERREEE BODY.”
He continued his tirade, emphasizing that no one, not even JAY-Z, has control over him: “IF TWITTER TAKE MY SHIT DOWN THEM SO BE IT BUT I NEED YALL TO [KNOW] JAY Z OR NOBODY HAVE NO POWER OVER ME.”
West later took another shot, writing: “AT LEAST JAY Z AND BEYONCÉ GET TO RAISE THEIR RETARDED ASS KIDS,” while also venting about the lack of celebrity support during his own struggles.
“I REGRET TAKING IT DOWN,” he added. “MY TWITTER IS A ONE WAY CONVERSION.”
JAY-Z has since remained silent and has not addressed West’s remarks publicly, leaving many to wonder if Kanye will ever apologize directly or in another string of tweets.
