Tension between the two parents has lingered since their split shortly after Adeya’s birth in 2019. Matters escalated in 2024 when Young-White accused Kehlani of being influenced by a cult. He argued that this alleged group shaped her parenting. In court filings, he claimed the organization “controls her actions and her behavior,” extending those accusations to the way she raised their daughter. The claims drew widespread attention and deepened an already strained relationship.

She also addressed Young-White’s accusations directly, calling them unfounded and driven by speculation rather than fact. “It’s a tough scenario,” she said. “Ultimately, the claims were false… he backtracked a lot… and much of it was refuted.” Reflecting on those who latched onto the controversy, she added, “We have a lot of misery on this Earth and hopefully they find some healing.”
With the case now resolved, Kehlani appears intent on reclaiming stability and protecting her daughter from further turmoil. She has stepped back from the noise that once surrounded the dispute. She is focused on building a quieter, more grounded environment for Adeya.
