As fans wait for Kendrick’s final TDE album, he’s putting on his filmmaking hat.
As reported on XXL, K. Dot’s manager and pgLang cofounder, Dave Free, teamed up with the co-creators for the cartoon, South Park, Matt Stone, and Trey Parker, to produce an untitled, live-action comedy movie for Paramount Pictures.
The article points out that Vernon Chatman’s film is about a young Black man who interns as a slave re-enactor at a living history museum and later realizes that his White girlfriend’s ancestors used to own his ancestors.
Kendrick is named one of the producers in the movie through pgLang. Stone and Parker are working via Park Country. There is no release date yet, but production is supposed to start in the spring.
Kendrick Lamar is partnering with South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker on a new comedy film. It'll be produced by Kendrick and Dave Free under pgLang and co-produced by Stone and Parker.
