Kevin Gates and Brittany Renner have once again ignited the internet’s curiosity with their latest public appearance.
The rapper shared a video earlier this week showing Renner riding shotgun as they cruised around with carefree energy, singing along to Soul for Real’s “Candy Rain.” Gates captioned the clip with his signature eccentric flair, writing, “If unbothered was a person… hope this makes somebody smile today bae u kno im goofy #Amilio #Alhamdulillah #LoveThisForMe.” Within minutes, the video went viral.
However, the playful moment didn’t sit well with everyone. A woman known online as Pursian P, who claims to be in a relationship with Gates, blasted both him and Renner for the public link-up. On social media, she accused the rapper of being “manipulative” and “narcissistic,” while calling Renner a hypocrite.
She alleged that despite knowing they were together, Renner still reached out to Gates, and went so far as to question her commitment to Islam. “You preach monogamy, yet you’re involved with a man who doesn’t live it. That’s a contradiction,” she said. “You turned Muslim because it’s a trend. It’s a mockery of the faith.”
Renner hasn’t commented publicly on the video or the backlash. Nor has she posted the footage on her own accounts. The silence has left fans speculating about the nature of her relationship with Gates. The two are no strangers to headlines.
They made waves in 2022 after revealing details about their alleged past in a viral, explicit video. That same year, they exchanged flirtatious banter during a Rolling Loud interview. More recently, Renner was seen at an interview Gates did with DDG, further fueling rumors.
Meanwhile, Dreka Gates—the rapper’s wife—has remained quiet. On the same day the video dropped, she posted a serene clip of herself walking barefoot outdoors.
“Your reminder to ground as much as possible. Connecting with the earth is a reset for your entire being,” she wrote, tagging her wellness brand.
She and Kevin no longer follow each other on Instagram, though it’s unclear when that changed. There have been no official announcements regarding their marital status, but Gates has appeared with other women in the past, including wellness coach Jade Ramey.
Renner’s appearance in Gates’ video also comes during a transformative period in her life. Last August, she announced her conversion to Islam, shifting away from her once-provocative image.
She’s since spoken openly about the challenges of her new path, including abstaining from alcohol and sex. In January, she revealed she hadn’t dated since embracing the faith and was avoiding relationships with married Muslim men.
“I didn’t come this far to be one of several,” she said in a candid video. “Discipline is attractive. The only thing that quenches lust is love.”
Despite her spiritual journey, her recent proximity to Gates has sparked debate about authenticity, double standards, and public accountability. Critics and supporters alike are now dissecting the optics of a woman who preaches modesty being seen with a man whose romantic life has long been messy and public.
Renner is also preparing for her return to reality TV, with Basketball Wives season five premiering May 5. How her appearance in Gates’ video might affect that rollout remains to be seen.
As for Pursian P, she says she’s done staying quiet. She expressed frustration at being the “cool, laid-back girl,” admitting that while she knew the risks of dating a rapper, “there are still boundaries.” The timeline of her alleged relationship with Gates remains unclear, but she insists his actions have crossed the line.
For now, Kevin Gates has not responded to the growing drama. But if history is any guide, he likely won’t stay silent for long.
