Kimora Lee Simmons breaks her silence on her daughter, Aoki, briefly dating 65-year-old restaurateur Vittorio Assaf.
The model caught up with TMZ and she was asked about the relationship she explains, “I don’t think she had an anything,” Kimora said to TMZ. “She’s a young pretty girl, and I think, we don’t think the toads we may kiss is going to be broadcasted. And I personally feel a little bit like she was set up, which is why I try to teach the girls. There’s definitely an age dynamic there.”
She did- however- say she seen the viral pictures online. “I probably was a little bit embarrassed. But you know me, I’m definitely like, ‘It is what it is, honey. Come on home, Mama’s got your back. He ain’t coming.’”
The relationship was short lived, according to a source close to the family. “Not only is it ‘over’, it was never a thing,” the insider tells PEOPLE. “Aoki is learning to navigate her private life in a public sphere. And that can be difficult. However, Kimora was concerned to see her daughter in that kind of relationship due to what she herself went through.”
The youngest daughter or Kimora and Russell Simmons was spotted kissing Assaf in St. Barths last month. The couple went on Instagram live at the time, and Aoki assured her friends and family that when she returns from her trip, they will be receiving a “better, more chilled-out” version of herself.
