According to reports, LeBron James will become part-owner of the Boston Red Sox.
James and his partner Maverick Carter purchased an undisclosed amount of shares in Fenway Sports Group, Red Sox firm. The Boston Globe’s Michael Silverman broke the story via Twitter. He tweeted,
“LeBron James to become part-owner of Red Sox, both he & Maverick Carter each join Fenway Sports Group as partners, first and only Black partners in FSG history. FSG also approves $750M investment from RedBird Capital Partners. Deal pending MLB approval.”

James purchased a stake in Fenway Sports group in 2011. That same year, he bought a 2% share in Liverpool, a soccer team also owned by FSG. Yard Barker reports FSG eventually wants to own an NBA franchise, and LeBron’s presence could help with that.
Congratulations!!
