On Monday (Feb.27), LeBron James responded to ESPN’s evaluation of his son’s future in the NBA Draft on social media.
Bronny was listed as the No. 39 overall pick in ESPN’s 2025 mock draft after a previous offseason cardiac arrest incident and sophomore campaign. LeBron asks sports media to let his son grow before making predictions.
“Can yall please just let the kid be a kid and enjoy college basketball,” James tweeted in a since-deleted tweet on X. “The work and results will ultimately do the talking no matter what he decides to do. If y’all don’t know he doesn’t care what a mock draft says, he just WORKS! Earned Not Given!”
He continued with a peace sign and crown emoji: “”And to all the other kids out there striving to be great just keep your head down, blinders on and keep grinding,” he continued in a second tweet. “These Mock Drafts doesn’t matter one bit! I promise you! Only the WORK MATTERS!! Let’s talk REAL BASKETBALL PEOPLE!”
In the past, LeBron has shared aspirations of playing with his son in the NBA; however, not sure how much longer he intends to play in the league.
At USC, Bronny has averaged 5.5 points. Being the son of one of the greatest basketball players ever, plenty of teams consider him a prospect. After the Lakers loss to the Memphis Grizzles in January, LeBron told the press his son can come play with his dad right now.
“Could play for us right now. Easy,” said LeBron.
