LiAngelo Ball is back in the headlines after the newest episode of Ball in the Family stirred up conversation about his past choices, his marriage, and the families he’s now navigating. Though the episode only released this week, fans immediately zeroed in on the moment, about 26 minutes in, when he opened up about the decisions that led him away from MissNikkiiBaby, who shares two children with him. Their split became public back in February 2025, when she shared with The Shade Room that he had suddenly moved out, stopped communicating with her and their kids, and revealed via text that he was seeing someone else, Rashida Nicole, who was pregnant at the time. “I hope it was worth losing his family,” she wrote then.
During the new podcast episode, Gelo explained he originally left because he and Nikki “couldn’t decide on the ‘…grown-up s**t,’” but now feels differently. “I don’t know. If I could re-do it, I would’ve whopped my own a** forreal, like I would’ve stayed there,” he said, later adding that he had already admitted to her that “n**a I was tweaking…I don’t got no excuse for that sht or nothing but yeah if I could re-do it, I wouldn’t do that sht.”
He also spoke on his short-lived marriage to Rashida, saying it unfolded during a period when he wasn’t thinking clearly. According to him, “She drove me out [to the courthouse]. I was ’bout to cry in the whip…like n***a I felt disconnected type s**t…I’m telling her I don’t want to get married…I don’t want to do none of this s**t.” He said he eventually reached a breaking point at home: “To be honest, I don’t like her a**.”
Rashida quickly fired back online, calling him a clown and insisting, “No one forced a grown man to do anything! Just like I can’t force him to be a Dad!!! #deadbeat.”
Meanwhile, MissNikkiiBaby has remained silent publicly, even as Rashida continues accusing him of being absent from their newborn’s life.
