Lil Baby’s 4PF label recently gained a new member, Atlanta rapper Dirty Tay. However, his promising future may now be on hold. According to legal documents obtained by HipHopDX, Tay (real name Kentavious Wright), was sentenced to 17 years after shooting a three-year-old.
Late last month, after taking a plea deal, Tay was imprisoned while awaiting his sentencing. Despite initially facing a capital felony —which would’ve made the rapper eligible for the death penalty — the chargers were reduced, meaning he would only serve 17 years behind bars.
In August 2022, the rapper was arrested and hit with multiple charges including criminal attempt to commit murder, criminal street gang participation, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and cruelty to children.
Police reports reveal that around 4 p.m. on Aug. 3, a Kia ( which was allegedly linked to Tay), pulled up to a parked car and opened fire. One of the bullets struck a three-year-old child who had been present in the backseat. The child was immediately transported to the nearest hospital in critical condition.
So far, neither Lil Baby nor his team members have released a statement regarding the situation. In 2020, the 24-year-old rapper’s star was on the rise. Dirty Tay would release two projects on 4PF entitled Way Bigger on the Low and Too Turnt Up. He’s garnered millions of streams on platforms like Spotify for his tracks, “Beast” and “Don’t Wanna Do It.”
In other news, a former producer that Lil Baby worked with, Clinton “D-Billz” Dorsey, was fatally shot and killed at an Atlanta apartment complex. Dorsey’s business partner, Kal Austin reveals that the situation happened after a heated argument between Dorsey and his 23-year-old son Ed.
“It was a situation that went too far, but that was probably something that was deeply rooted as their relationship as father and son,” said Austin.
Police officers on the scene reveal that the younger Dorsey had a gun. “That argument turned to being physical, and that turned to Mr. Dorsey, retrieving a firearm, and shooting Clinton Dorsey,” said Brookhaven Police Sgt. John Clifford.
