It appears the Democratic National Convention was the hottest party in Chicago on Tuesday evening (August 20) with Lil Jon as one of the night’s highlight entertainment.

Representing Georgia, the legendary entertainer strolled through Chicago’s United Center to the beats of “Turn Down for What,” his song with DJ Snake, for the convention roll-call. The “Say Yeah” hitmaker walked toward the rest of the state delegation and state chairwoman, Rep. Nikema Williams.

Lil Jon’s performance at the DNC went viral, and many comments across social media enjoyed the moment. “Atlanta gone Atlanta every single time,” commented popular sports personality Jemele Hill on Instagram.

Aldren Mccullar, actor and influencer, commented on The Shade Room’s post, “The energy is crazy dope!!!! And let All the miserable no fun grumpy people HUSH. Y’all can stay on mute! Lil Jon set the energy high!!!”

Another user wrote, “Kamala is adding much needed salt, onion powder, paprika, Larry’s, garlic powder and adobo in this pot of greens,” while another commented, “This is the most electrifying DNC I’ve ever watched. The roll call had me cheering for every state like I was from there! We are witnessing history tonight!”

Lil Jon brought out a vintage performance in Chicago after releasing a meditation album in May. Manifest Abundance is a nine-song project that focuses on your way of thinking.

During the Democratic National Convention, DJ Cassidy spun a special song for each state and territory giving delegates to Kamala Harris. For Michigan, Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” was mashupped with Dropkick Murphys’ “I’m Shipping Up to Boston” and Tupac’s “California Love.”

To project joy and positive energy even as they warn that Republican nominee Donald Trump must be defeated, Democrats wanted to put the party in political party. It has been a year since the party used a video roll call, the last time featuring Rhode Island’s state dish, calamari, at the pandemic-restricted 2020 convention.
