Devontae Beach, the manager of rapper EST Gee, was shot and killed after a concert in his hometown of Louisville. Beach, 31, was found dead in a car near the KFC YUM! Center with multiple gunshot wounds. According to WLKY, the shooting was reported in the early hours of Sunday, July 21, and police arrived at around 1:30 a.m. Beach was declared dead shortly after by medical personnel. There are no known suspects at this time, and it is unclear if Beach was targeted.

The Louisville Metro Police Department is investigating the incident, while EST Gee has not yet publicly addressed the tragedy. The Summer Jam event, which also featured Lil Baby, 42 Dugg, Yo Gotti, Icewear Vezzo, and others, had heightened security measures to ensure attendee safety, according to a venue spokesperson. Despite these precautions, concerns about security persisted.

Previously, EST Gee’s former manager Eric Mosley was arrested by the FBI on drug trafficking charges, along with others connected to the CMG rapper. Both Mosley and EST Gee are linked to the alleged gang Everybody Shine Together, which faces accusations of involvement in violence and drug trafficking. Mosley could face life in prison if convicted. FBI Louisville Special Agent in Charge Jodi Cohen emphasized the focus on tackling violent crime, stating, “While too many families have experienced unspeakable tragedies from the violent crime plaguing our city, FBI Louisville, LMPD, and other law enforcement partners are strategically focused on pursuing the most violent and persistent offenders.”

Additionally, Everybody Shine Together Entertainment contributed to a $300,000 bond for Kevon Lawless, who faces the death penalty for the 2020 murders of 3-year-old Trinity Randolph and her father, Brandon Waddles.
