Like the rest of the world, Megan The Stallion seems to enjoy Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” record. During a recent set in LA, the Houston Hottie rapped a few bars from the track. The moment was caught on camera by a fan and has made its rounds on social media. “They not like us,” she raps while dancing. Although it’s unclear what initially caused the tension between the two, as time passes, their ongoing beef continues to fester. It appears the issue between Lamar and Drake kicked off following the release of Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” which featured a fiery rap from Lamar, where he took multiple shots at Drake.

The “Headlines” rapper quickly fired back with “Push Ups,” where he not only called out Lamar, but Rick Ross and The Weeknd. He would eventually follow that up with “Taylor Made Freestyle.” However, the track was quickly removed from social media due to threats from Tupac Shakur’s estate, after the rapper used AI-generated voices of Pac and Snoop Dogg. Not too long after, Kendrick fired back with two more diss tracks, “6:16 in LA” and then later “Not Like Us,” which has been breaking records across multiple streaming platforms. The rapper recently partnered with Amazon Prime for a “pop-out” event in LA at the Kia Forum.

Megan’s The Stallion’s ‘Megan’ Album Explores Rebirth

In other news, Megan Thee Stallion recently opened up about her upcoming album, Megan. The project is scheduled to be released on June 28. The album boasts features from UGK, GloRIlla, Victoria Monet, and more. In a conversation with L’Officiel USAthe rapper says that her album focuses on a “rebirth” and the shedding of her past woes. “We don’t just stop at the snake. This is just what everybody sees right now,” she tells the publication. She adds, “Renewal and rebirth are the album’s concept.” Ahead of the album’s upcoming release, the Houston hottie has dropped three singles, “Cobra,” “Hiss,” and “BOA.”

Megan says the project’s snake-inspired vibe comes from her love of reptiles and how they’re often misunderstood. “We started with the snake because, first of all, I love snakes, but I feel like snakes are so misunderstood, especially in western culture.” She continues: “Snakes represent rebirth, spirituality. I’m not really a person that’s like, ‘Oh my God, sunshine and just super bubbly, happy.’ I like darker things…I picked the snake because… it’s kind of like an antihero.”
