Laila Ali SHOCKS The Internet w/ Her Thoughts On Black Lives Matter [VIDEO]
Muhammad Ali was one of the biggest athletes in the world.
He was also one of the biggest activists in the world after speaking up for the rights of black Americans and people overall in his career.
Although he tragically passed away earlier this year, his legacy has been passed down to his children. Laila Ali who has been in the limelight for much of her adult life as a boxer and personality was asked her opinion on the Black Lives Matter movement during a stop on HuffPost Live.
Her answer surprised many.
“By me not posting, it doesn’t mean that black lives don’t matter. To me, it’s obvious that black lives matter. And then… I’m like, what is posting going to do? What is speaking out going to do? Yes, black lives matter. Yes, white lives matter, asian lives matter. All lives matter. And that’s kind of what my focus is. But it’s hard because, you know, you’ve got sponsors and you’ve got this and you’ve got that. And you don’t want to step on anybody’s toes. And you’re trying to be politically correct, but at the same time trying to uplift your people.”
Ali does have a family to think of, and it does bring light into the difficulties celebrities and athletes have to think about before standing up.
