NBA YoungBoy’s latest stop on his MASA Tour sparked a chaotic scene in New Orleans over the weekend. After performing a sold-out show at the Smoothie King Center on Sunday night (Oct. 19), the Louisiana rapper was spotted walking through downtown with his entourage. Crowds quickly gathered as fans surrounded him on Canal Street and later on Bourbon Street, forcing police to step in. Videos circulating online show officers pushing through a dense crowd before escorting the rapper safely to a waiting vehicle.

The New Orleans Police Department has taken no chances ahead of his second concert scheduled for Monday night (Oct. 20). Following several security-related tour cancellations, officials have ramped up measures to prevent any disturbances. According to NOPD Assistant Superintendent Hans Ganthier, the department will deploy “tactical units, drones, armored vehicles,” and 400 extra officers. “Our public message to everyone is that NOPD is prepared for this event,” Ganthier said. “If you have to bring a gun, don’t come down to the areas of interest. Leave your guns at home.”

The heightened security comes after tensions flared earlier in the tour. Fox 8 reports that YoungBoy’s second Atlanta concert was canceled after members of his team clashed with local police at the VIP entrance of the State Farm Arena. While Sunday night’s New Orleans show went smoothly inside the venue, the frenzy that followed outside highlighted just how intense the rapper’s fan base remains.

Despite the commotion, NBA YoungBoy shows no signs of slowing down. His MASA Tour continues with 14 more stops across major cities, including Houston, Dallas, Las Vegas, and Seattle. For now, fans are hoping the next shows deliver the same energy—without the Bourbon Street chaos.
