Fashion designer, Dapper Dan, who has a partnership with Gucci, took to his Instagram to address the situation. He states, ‘I am a Black man before I am a brand.  Another fashion house has gotten it completely wrong.”

Although Gucci issued an apology over the blackface-inspired design, many feel like that apology was not enough.  Amidst the controversy, Dapper Dan states the CEO of Gucci has agreed to travel to Harlem from Italy to meet with him. Hopefully this meeting will spark some change.  Dan also mentions other industry leaders will be at this meeting.
