It’s been a great week for Meek Mill!
His fourth studio album, Championships went platinum and his hometown named a weekend after him!
Philadelphia declares March 14 as the start of Meek Mill weekend. He’s being recognized for his contributions as an artist and for being a criminal justice reform advocate.
TMZ reports, the holiday has been confirmed on a city level, “but Pennsylvania State Senator Sharif Street will step right up after him to announce the proclamation on a statewide level.” This is perfect timing since the “Dreamchaser” rapper is kicking off his Motivation Tour for the next couple of days in Philly.
Houston also gave Meek is own day for his contributions to music and art, as well as his philanthropic efforts to change the criminal justice system. February 24th is deemed his day in Houston.
