If you were tuned into the BET hip-hop awards, then you caught the Vic Mensa’s cypher. Vic was in hot water, as it appears that during that freestyle- Vic was taking shots at the late XXXTentacion. You can hear Vic rap words like “Your favorite rapper’s a domestic abuser.”
It is alleged that awards producers edited XXX name out of Vic’s verse. Vic did take to his social media to express that he meant what he said about domestic violence, but he didn’t know that “a grieving mother” would be in the audience, referring to XXX mother who accepted an award on her sons behalf.
After the awards aired last night (October 16th) Vic released a song entitled “Empathy.” Where he is addressing all the backlash he has been receiving.
