Nicki Minaj’s ‘Super Bass’ Earns Highest Certified Single Ever, Dethrones Cardi B’s ‘Bodak Yellow’

Nearly two decades into her career, Nicki Minaj continues to reach milestones. The mother of one has dethroned Cardi B as the only female rapper in the US to have the highest certified single ever with her 2010 smash hit, “Super Bass.” The track appeared on the deluxe version of her debut studio album, Pink Friday.

Per Chart Data, the song has been certified 12 times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). “@NICKIMINAJ’s “Super Bass” becomes the highest certified single by a female rapper in US (@RIAA) history (12x Platinum),” the post read. 

Prior to this, Cardi B held that top spot with her hit song “Bodak Yellow,”  which went 11 times platinum as of 2022. Minaj shared the news with her fans on X, writing, “POW!!! thank you to Republic Records for always having my back. barrrbz!!!!!!”
