Nipsey Hussle’s estate finally agreed with the Crips LLC.
The Crips LLC was sued by Nipsey Hussle’s brother, Samuel Asghedom (aka Blacc Sam), last year. The suit is also against Tia Hollis, a managing member who owns a majority in the Crips LLC (not affiliated with the crip gang organization). The claim is over Crips LLC‘s use of Nipsey’s phrase, ‘The Marathon Continues.’
TMZ reports Blacc Sam settled with the Crips LLC. The notice was filed on March 25 in L.A. County court. It’s not clear yet what the agreement is. Nipsey’s estate sought monetary damages and a judgment directing the Crips company to destroy any merchandise it made with the trademarks, the publication reports.
In 2019, Crips LLC filed a trademark application for the use of the phrase “The Marathon Continues” on education manuals for community organization and gang prevention. Sam opposed it and sent a notice to the trademark office. Sam claims they continued to use it for commercial purposes.
