NLE Choppa is once again at the center of controversy after both mothers of his children, Marissa Da’Nae and Mariah, accused him of mistreating and neglecting their kids. The tension first began in mid-September when Marissa, who shares a two-year-old son named ChoZen with the rapper, aired her frustrations online. She criticized him for allegedly being an absent father and brought up a supposed custody dispute he started. “I can’t believe this btch is taking me to court about a child he doesn’t even call lmao,” she wrote. “B*tch can’t even tell a mf when’s the last time ChoZen been to the doctor.” Marissa later added more explosive claims, saying, “A child he had fasting at 1 year old. Saying a child didn’t need to eat 3 times a day. Kids come home starving.”
Not long after, Mariah, who is the mother of Choppa’s daughter Clover, shared her own experience on social media. On October 4th, she posted on X that she had faced similar treatment, writing, “Be starving Clover’s a*s as well [three loudly crying emojis].” Her comment quickly sparked reactions across social platforms and drew heavy attention to Choppa’s parenting.
In response, the rapper’s mother, Angela Potts, came to his defense. She uploaded clips of Choppa caring for his kids and dismissed the allegations as lies. “But he don’t feed her, [check mark emoji]… All he does for his baby mamas and kids, and this the thanks he gets. SLANDER SMH,” she wrote.
Choppa also addressed the situation on Instagram by posting a heartwarming video of him styling his daughter’s hair. When he asked Clover who the best dad is, she replied, “Bryson Potts,” his real name. His caption defined “neglect” and ended with, “Looks like neglect to me [laughing emoji two hearts emoji]. PS: This toothbrush is designated ONLY for her hair!” Neither Marissa nor Mariah has filed any official court documents so far.
