PinkPantheress is opening up about her mental health and music in a rare and refreshingly honest interview on the Therapuss podcast with Jake Shane. The British singer and producer, born Victoria Walker, spoke candidly about her experience with OCD, revealing how it has impacted both her personal life and her creative standards.

“I don’t necessarily have many of the fears that you might have about certain things,” she shared. “I do have this thing where once I have a thought it loops, loops, loops for a month and it will never stop.” That constant mental repetition, she explained, fuels her perfectionism. “If I don’t consider myself a certain standard at what I’m doing, I don’t see the point doing it… That’s something birthed from my OCD, by not being satisfied by anything less than perfect.”

Throughout the hour-long episode, PinkPantheress also reflected on how OCD has shaped her self-image and work ethic. Whether it’s the pressure to hit impossibly high creative standards or the challenge of breaking intrusive thought cycles, she’s found ways to manage through music, reflection, and creative experimentation.

The conversation also included lighter moments like the origin of her name, which came from a game show moment while watching The Chase, and her earliest days on TikTok. She discussed producing “Angel” with Charlie Puth (calling him “kind of like AI in a person musically”), and her phase of maladaptive daydreaming: “I would act like I had a boyfriend around the house.”

Now embracing more visibility after years of anonymity, she’s stepping further into the spotlight with a nine-city North American residency tour titled An Evening With PinkPantheress.
