It’s that season! Summer-time is finally here, and it’s no secret that new music is continuously being released. While we have some of our favorites dominating the charts, don’t let them sidetrack you from new artists that are on the rise. The New AF playlist highlights music from some upcoming heavyhitters on the scene. Here are five new artists that you should be watching:

Lil Tecca’s Holding The Billboard Charts Up For “Ran$om”

This upcoming artist is one that you cannot miss! Hailing from New York, 16 year old Lil Tecca has been creating buzz on Soundcloud, as well as on social media with his goofy, quirky presence. His hit single Ran$om initially debuted No. 93 on the Billboard Hot 100. Lil Tecca continues to propel on the charts, nabbing a No. 65 spot on the Billboard chart. Becoming an “accidental” star from his Soundcloud tracks, Lil Tecca’s sound has garnered millions of streams, and even a 12-story billboard of himself in Times Square. PJ’s Picking Up The Pen To Unleash Her Stardom

Meet the artist behind some of the most popular artists’ hits! PJ, also known as Paris Jones, is a singer-songwriter and producer from Atlanta by way of Greensboro, NC. PJ has penned hits for many artists, including Chris Brown and Fantasia. Categorizing her genre as “Come Up Music”, PJ holds her music to zero boundaries. She has toured with K. Michelle, where she took her 2016 debut album, Rare, to new heights. Her new single, “One Missed Call” will for sure give listeners a soulful vibe as it features a sample of Stevie Wonder’s “All I Do”. Hear the song below!

After completing a Public Relations degree at Howard University, Saneit is ready to take on the world head-on. Her latest EP Crush emphasizes her versatility as a soulful R&B artist and songwriter. Philly’s very own independent artist Eleven9 is on a come up. Starting his rap career in 2017, his raunchy single “BBSD” has been a catchy bop you can hear across college campuses and in the DC area. He uses different tempos, melodies, and cadences to engage his audiences—whether it be on stage as a student at Howard University or throughout the east coast. After experiencing a life-changing accident, Eleven9’s lyrics come from a personal standing as a testimony to his strength and endurance. His first EP Heart of a Player displays his growth as an artist trying to navigate who he is and where he wants to go. Eleven9’s songs, “Racks” and “EGO” are streaming now!

Polo G Raps Through His Pain As One of Rap’s New Storytellers

Polo G embraces his duality as an artist, mixing drill and pop effortlessly. The Chicago native uses his music to capture and cope with his traumatic upbringing. At 20 years old, Polo G is signed to a major label and has an entry on the Billboard Hot 100 with his hit “Pop Out”. His debut album Die A Legend documents his growth personally and musically. “Even if you don’t come from the streets you can relate,” he told Pitchfork. “We all share this emotion.” Polo G’s “Pop Out Again” featuring Lil Baby and Gunna has the clubs on smash!
