Police have identified 26-year-old Luigi Mangione as a person of interest in connection to the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

ABC reports, “he was on a Greyhound bus traveling through Altoona on Monday morning, sources said, when he got off and walked into a McDonald’s where a witness recognized him from the images of the suspect circulated by police. Mangione was sitting and eating when a McDonald’s employee reported him.”

As previously reported, Brian Thompson, the head of UnitedHealth’s insurance branch, was shot dead early last week outside the Hilton hotel in Midtown.

When the CEO arrived at a Midtown hotel around 6:45 a.m. for a conference the gunman, masked and waiting, ambushed him near Sixth Avenue. The shooter fired multiple shots before fleeing on a bicycle.

Mangione was later pronounced dead from the chest wound.
