The Clipse’s Pusha T returns to fashion via mentor and longtime friend Pharrell Williams as Louis Vuitton has named him their new brand ambassador.
The “Numbers On The Board” recording artist launched a clothing brand, Play Cloths, in 2008 that was available in department stores and fashion boutiques until the late 2010s. Before Play Cloths, Push and Pharrell popularized Japanese streetwear brands in the U.S. through their hit songs such as “Mr. Me Too.”
Since taking on the role of creative director of menswear at Louis Vuitton last year, Pharrell Williams has brought a star-studded entourage to the French fashion house. Beyoncé and Rihanna attended his debut show, which concluded with a performance by Jay-Z. Rihanna featured in his first ad campaign, and Tyler, the Creator was invited to design a capsule collection.
Pusha T, born Terrence LeVarr Thornton, and his older brother, Gene, better known as No Malice, played Williams’ first show last June on the Pont Neuf bridge in Paris given their long-standing relationship. In January, Pusha T appeared on the runway for Vuitton’s western-themed fall 2024 show, and last month he and No Malice attended the spring 2025 show at UNESCO headquarters.
“Their shared history promises dynamic future avenues of expression and further affirms the maison’s ambassadorial circle to be those forging today’s contemporary landscape across industries and fields,” Louis Vuitton said in a statement.
The brand praised Pusha T for “his razor-sharp lyrical storytelling” and significant influence on the music scene. Known for his powerful delivery and lyrics focusing on drug dealing, Pusha T has collaborated with artists such as Ye, Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Tyga, and Future.
“His ambassadorial nomination at Louis Vuitton is a testament to his commitment to artistry and a strong personal style, both echoing the maison’s own dedication to unique expression across fashion and culture,” the statement added.
“Pusha T’s role as house ambassador underscores Louis Vuitton’s vision of bringing together diverse cultural influences to build powerful storytelling within its storied menswear universe. The maison looks forward to this exciting collaborative journey ahead,” Louis Vuitton added.
In addition to many other brands, Pusha T has worked with like Adidas, BAPE, and Marcelo Burlon. Thom Browne invited him to attend the Met Gala last year.
Louis Vuitton’s roster of celebrities includes K-pop stars including J-Hope and Felix of BTS, Got7’s BamBam and Jackson Wang, as well as athletes like Victor Wembanyama and Carlos Alcaraz.
