Quavo Links Up With Political Figures To Advocate Against Gun Violence

Quavo wants to help put an end to gun violence.

Following the tragic/show king death of his nephew/group member, Takeoff last November, Quavo is trying to add positivity to communities. Shortly after Takeoff was killed, he launched the nonprofit organization, Rocket Foundation, to advocate against gun violence.

The Jasmine Brand reports, today (September 20), Quavo alongside, his mother, and his sister (Takeoff’s mother) made new connections with a few political figures for the Black Caucus Conference Panel. During the conversation, Quavo told the crowd how he wants to “step up to the plate.” He said,

“I feel like your calling comes at the least expected times.” Then he continued, “You don’t think nothing is going to happen. I need to step up to the plate and hit a home run.” The “Hotel Lobby” rapper is on a mission to make major changes in the world. He went on the say,

“I have to do something about it, so it won’t happen to the masses — especially in our culture. I don’t want this to happen to the next person. I want to knock down these percentages.” He also spoke on gun control,

“We need to do better with the control of guns. We need to figure out how do we keep these types of incidents from happening to people going anywhere and thinking they can hurt somebody where it shouldn’t happen.”

On November 1, 2022, Takeoff, 28, was shot and killed in the back of the head at a bowling alley in Houston, Texas. Gunfire initially erupted over a heated dice game. Tragically, Takeoff was an innocent bystander, not involved in the argument.

Patrick Clark, 33, was arrested in connection with the death in December. He was indicted on murder charges. The case is ongoing, Patrick remains under house arrest on a $1 million bond.

Takeoff forever. May he continue to rest peacefully.
