Rapper Big30 appeared in federal court Monday as his case, linked to Pooh Shiesty, continued. Authorities allege Big30, born Rodney Wright Jr., participated in a criminal conspiracy alongside Pooh Shiesty, prompting scrutiny of his pretrial release.
A federal judge set Big30’s bond at $100,000, allowing him to remain out of custody while the case progresses. The court imposed strict conditions, including home detention with electronic location monitoring.
Travel is restricted to West Tennessee, except for court appearances in Dallas. Federal pretrial services will oversee his compliance.
The release order bars Big30 from contacting co-defendants. It also prohibits firearms or illegal drugs and mandates regular drug testing. The judge’s conditions aim to mitigate flight risk while protecting public safety.
After the hearing, defense attorney Arthur Horne addressed the ruling, noting that prosecutors are likely to appeal.

“[Prosecutors are] going to file an appeal, and they’re going to appeal the judge’s decision,” Horne told reporters. “We will have another detention hearing in Texas on the same facts you saw today.”
Horne emphasized Big30’s history of lawful conduct and community involvement, noting the rapper has maintained a positive profile since signing with Endless Entertainment.
“He’s stayed out of trouble since he signed with Endless Entertainment,” Horne said. “He’s doing great things in the music industry and supporting the community.”
The attorney also referenced comments from Gucci Mane. Meanwhile, Magistrate Judge Annie Christoff issued a temporary stay on Big30’s release, giving federal prosecutors until Tuesday afternoon to decide whether to appeal.
The case now heads toward a potential detention hearing in Texas, with Big30’s legal status pending the government’s next move.
