A$AP Rocky proposed to Rihanna with a grill that says “MARRY ME” in a music video for his song “DMB,” short for Dats My B*tch. In the video, Riri has her own grill that says “I DO!” After they announced they’re expecting a baby, they did say they planned on tying the knot, do you think the engagement was real?
How a video cost Dr. Dre his “first billionaire in hip hop” title:
In 2014, Beats Electronics was purchased by Apple in a $3.2 billion deal. In his new book Wall Street journal reporter, Tripp Mickle claims Dre’s video leaking the news about the purchased caused Apple to chop off $200 million because Dre was suppose to keep the news on the low. Rumor has it, the reduced offer amount was just enough to make sure Dre didn’t reach his goal on becoming a billionaire. In 2019, it was announced Jay Z became hip hops first.
Dave Chappelle attacked on stage:
On Tuesday (May 3) night, Dave performed at the Hollywood Bowl for the Netflix is a Joke: The Festival event. After he finished his act, as he was exiting the stage, a male Isiah Lee, 23, who was part of the audience jumped on the stage and tackled Dave to the ground. Lee was jumped by security and suffered a broken arm, bloody nose and a puffy face. Police discovered Lee had a replica handgun that had a knife blade. The motive remains unclear. Lee was arrested and taken to a hospital for medical treatment. His bail is $30,000. Police have Lee in custody for the attack. Lee is facing four misdemeanor charges and is held on a $30,000 bail.
Will Smith’s comedy series gets axed:
Will Smith’s comedy series, This Joka, will not be returning for a second season on Roku. They claim they didn’t have the option to renew the show, and went on to say the decision had nothing to do with the Oscars incident, where Will slapped Chris.
DaBaby won’t face charges for shooting on his property:
DaBaby won’t face any charges from the shooting that occurred on his property, last month. DaBaby shot an intruder while he attempted to scale the fence surrounding his North Carolina estate. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment and his injuries were non life threatening.
Ray J. breaks silence on sex tapes with Kim Kardashian:
According to Ray J., the creation and distribution of his infamous sex tape with Kim Kardashian was completely orchestrated by her mother. During an interview with Daily Mail, Ray J. broke his silence. He says he and Kim signed a contract, facilitated by Kris Jenner, for two sex videos. According to Ray J. the first video, that most of us has seen, was never leaked, the distribution was always part of Jenner ‘s plan.
Pusha T speaks on Drake beef:
During an interview with GQ, Pusha T said when it comes to Drake beef, he’s over it. He chose not to address it on his new album saying diss tracks would “cheapen the project.” His latest release, It’s Almost Dry is Pusha T’s first No. 1 album on the Billboard chart. He’ll be on that Summer Jam stage going down June 12 at MetLife stadium get those tickets before they sell out!
RIP Kevin Samuels:
Controversial relationship YouTuber, Kevin Samuels, passed away. Reports say the cause of death was cardiac arrest but hot 97 can’t independently confirm that. His mother Beverly Samuels-Burch declined to release details about what happened. She says, “That was a terrible thing for social media to put that out. I didn’t even know. I hadn’t even been notified. All I’m doing is requesting that people pray for us.”
