R&B singer Sammie, whose legal name is Sammie Lee Bush, was arrested in Georgia on October 19, 2025, and faces multiple misdemeanor charges stemming from a domestic dispute in Henry County, court records show.
According to booking information from the Henry County Police Department, Bush, 38, was taken into custody shortly before midnight and charged with battery involving family violence, cruelty to children in the third degree, and being a fugitive in-state. Authorities said the charges include allegations that a child was present during a domestic altercation, elevating the offense under Georgia law.
Bush, known for early 2000s hits such as “I Like It” and collaborations with Soulja Boy and Lloyd, was booked into the Henry County Jail. Records indicate a $1,050 cash or property bond was issued for the battery and child cruelty charges. Sammie has been released on bond, according to the Henry County inmate record. Bush was held in county custody.
Court documents show the case is pending before the Henry County State Court. Officials have not disclosed the details of the underlying warrant that prompted the fugitive charge, nor have they confirmed whether it relates to another Georgia jurisdiction.
Bush’s arrest marks the latest legal issue for the singer, who has remained active in R&B circles through touring and social media engagement. His representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding the charges.
Under Georgia law, cruelty to children in the third degree is a misdemeanor offense that applies when a child witnesses a violent act between household members. The state’s family violence statute classifies such conduct as battery when it involves physical harm to a spouse, partner, or family member.
Henry County State Courts records have not shown a court date on the matter for the R&B singer at this time.
