Snoop Dogg is recognized by Reddit Co-Founder Alexis Ohanian, a decade after the West Coast MC provided crucial support to the emerging start-up.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Ohanian shared how Snoop supported him when the forum social network was in its early stages, when few others did.

Beautiful day in LA. I appreciate this city so much. Got to catch up with a lot of friends. Some of you may know @SnoopDogg was one of our earliest investors at @reddit during our spin-out & turnaround. Very few people wanted to invest in us back then. Snoop did. And ya never for get your Day Ones,” he penned in a heartfelt note.

Back when Reddit was still dusting off its shoulders, following some serious criticism, particularly for its slow response in banning a community named “The Fappening” — which shared compromising celebrity images — Jared Leto and Snoop Dogg jumped at the opportunity to back the startup, initially valued at $500 million.

The deal was spearheaded by Sam Altman, president of the startup incubator Y Combinator, which supported Reddit upon its launch in 2005. Today, Reddit boasts a staggering valuation of $10.68 billion.

In a similar news, Snoop Dogg’s beverage line, Gin & Juice, crafted with Dr. Dre, is set to make waves at the Arizona Bowl as the presenting sponsor, marking a groundbreaking moment in college football bowl history.

In fact, it’s the first-ever bowl to team up with a booze brand. Gin & Juice, a canned cocktail featuring gin, kicks off Dre and Snoop’s swanky new spirits gig. The beverage also happens to be a toast to Snoop’s classic Doggystyle album (produced by Dre) and his Grammy-nominated jam “Gin & Juice” from ’94.

The game, set for December 28th at 2:30 p.m. MT, intends to capture a wide audience with a televised broadcast, negotiations for which are currently ongoing.
