Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez is facing legal action from her daughter, Demoree Hadley, who accuses the high-profile music executive of having her involuntarily committed to a psychiatric facility under false pretenses. In a lawsuit filed this May, Hadley alleges that Perez misrepresented her mental state, claiming she was suicidal and abusing substances in order to secure the commitment. The complaint details a wider rift within the family, with Hadley accusing her mother of using her power and resources to interfere in her marriage.

She alleges Perez targeted her husband with unfounded accusations of domestic abuse and took deliberate steps to drive a wedge between the couple. Perez has denied all claims in court filings. Roc Nation also obtained a court order barring Hadley and her husband from making public statements about the case.

Tensions escalated further when Roc Nation accused Hadley of violating that gag order after she appeared in an interview with media personality Tasha K, which was later published on Hadley’s Instagram account. Roc Nation claims the video’s release was a deliberate attempt to shape public opinion around the private family dispute. Hadley has pushed back, saying she did not post the video herself and that it appeared on her account only after Tasha K tagged her as a collaborator. She maintains the post was removed the same day. Still, Roc Nation argues that such a collaboration tag would have required Hadley’s consent, casting doubt on her explanation.

In court documents, Roc Nation also says Perez received threatening messages following the interview’s release. The company is now asking the court to hold Hadley in contempt. As of now, the court has not issued a ruling on the motion.

The case offers a rare glimpse into private family dynamics playing out under the glare of celebrity. As legal proceedings continue, both Perez and Hadley remain under scrutiny, and the outcome could reverberate beyond their family to the wider Roc Nation circle.
