Roc Nation’s Reuben Vincent Shares Grandmother’s House Was Shot Up While On Tour, She’s Okay

Roc Naition’s Reuben Vincent, who was in Dallas, Texas, to kick off the Bas‘s We Only Talk About Real Shit When We’re Fucked Up tour on Sunday evening (Mar.3), shared that his grandmother’s home was shot up, but she’s okay.

At the House of Blues, Jay-Z and Young Guru’s protégé shared the news with a packed crowd, saying, “God is in the room, God is in the air. Earlier today, when we landed in Dallas – first and foremost, my biggest tour i’ve ever done – I received a phone call from back home saying my Grandmother’s house got shot up … but she is okay.”

The Charlotte, North Carolina artist would then perform “Grand Cherry,” a song he wrote to remember those who had passed away throughout his life. He concluded his set with the introduction of his crew Third World and perform a new song from his upcoming album.

Reuben Vincent signed with Roc Nation through Jamla Records in 2021. The buzzing rap star is best known for his fiery freestyles and fan-favorite tracks “Love Is A Mixtape,” “No Problems,” “Pray On It.” In 2023, he released his debut album, Love Is War, featuring Domani, Stacy Barthe, Ant Clemons, Reason, and Rapsody.

Vincent opens for Bas on the 23-city tour in support of the Dreamville artist’s new album. We Only Talk About Real Shit When We’re Fucked Up includes hit singles “Passport Bros,” “Paper Cuts,” “U-Turn,” and “Wait On Me” with guest appearances by J. Cole, A$AP Ferg, and FKJ.

After the show, Bas would commend Reuben on an amazing show with the tweet, “Real niggas do real things! One show down! U a master performer. honored.”
