Like mother like daughter.
Spice Girl member Mel B and her daughter Phoneix went viral showing off their summer bodies in bikinis. The 24-year-old and her 65-year-old mother did a photoshoot for the Own Your Confidence campaign launched by lingerie company Pour Moi.
The mission of the project is to boost women’s confidence, no matter their age. Mel B told Women’s Health UK:
“I love working the Own Your Confidence campaign with Pour Moi; it’s all about feeling fabulous, feeling confident and celebrating women of all shapes, sizes and ages. It’s about being real, not being edited and not taking ourselves too seriously.”

During the interview with the publication, Mel B said it was her idea to have her family involved, Mel’s mother also made a cameo in the commercial. “My mum’s 68, I’m 48, Phoenix is 24. This campaign was more about women coming together. It wasn’t like ‘look at me,’ and it was ‘look at all different ages, all different body shapes,’ and we all feel confident in what we’re wearing and confident in our skin,” Mel said.
Some of the proceeds from the campaign went toward ending domestic abuse for women and children. In 2018, Mel revealed she was in an abusive relationship with her ex husband Stephen Belafonte (Phoneix’s dad is Dutch dancer Jimmy Gulzar).
Mel and Phoneix aren’t the first mommy-daughter duo to go viral. In January, Erykah Badu, 52, and her daughter Puma Curry, 18, broke the Internet showing off their butts. Online critics chimed in but Erykah, Puma, and her father were completely unbothered.
