Star Brim, also known as Yonette Respass, just shared photos from prison on November 19th, captioning them on Instagram: “Walking This & Down !! & HFREEME #FREEDABIGGEST.” The longtime friend of Cardi B is currently serving a one-year-and-one-day sentence, followed by three years of supervised release, after pleading guilty to charges tied to the 5-9 Brims Blood gang.

Back in March, All HipHop reported that Star admitted her involvement in the gang’s criminal activities and was charged under the RICO Act alongside 17 other members. She officially began her prison sentence on September 20, 2024.

Throughout it all, Cardi B has remained by her side, often reflecting on the growth she has seen in her friend. “It’s like we have grown up,” Cardi said emotionally. “You have became such a different person, and it’s just like, I really want people to hear her story and it’s so inspirational.” In one heartfelt moment, Cardi even asked Star to “cut the camera” as she became visibly overwhelmed.

Star, in turn, has praised Cardi for her loyalty. “Cardi is never there for me when I want her,” she joked. “But every single time I need this little b*tch, she’s there.” Demonstrating her commitment to their friendship, even during Star’s time in prison, Cardi has vowed to step out of her comfort zone in solidarity, saying, “If she going to be uncomfortable, I’mma put myself in situations where I’m uncomfortable.”

Their friendship is a testament to unwavering support and loyalty, proving that true bonds remain unbreakable even in the toughest times, including prison.
