Statement Released By Polo G’s Lawyer After Police Raid On Rapper’s Residence

The “Finer Things” rapper shockingly had his South California home raided by LA authorities on Wednesday, August 23. Polo G’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, sat down with XXL to discuss the matter and reported that he can “verify” the artist is not a convicted criminal. Cohen stated, “The incident surrounded someone staying in Polo’s home and not Polo directly:” “The officers have detained Polo to ‘verify’ that he is not a convicted felon, as they assert a firearm was found in the home. It is widely known that Polo is not a convicted felon and never was a convicted felon.” Following the statement, he proceeded to explain that he “got all his charges in Miami dismissed when he was in our opinion wrongfully arrested and charged. They have refused to allow us access to our client which is also an illegal and unethical practice, and someone will have to answer for these new wrongful actions.”

TMZ acquired a clip showcasing the police parking their cars and entering Polo’s home. The video concluded with the authorities detaining several individuals in the home, including Polo G. Reportedly, law enforcement claimed the warrant was placed due to suspicion of a robbery. The police shortly responded to TMZ, saying, “We are hopeful the LAPD will handle this matter with tact and transparency.”

Prior to this incident, Polo encountered legal troubles in June 2021, subsequent to his Hall of Fame album release event. He faced multiple allegations, which included assaulting a law enforcement officer. However, a year later, revealed bodycam footage shed light on the sequence of events during the incident. Around that time, claims were made that Polo gave the officer a swollen left cheek and multiple punches after being pulled over. He was charged with battery against an officer and other charges, but the obtained bodycam footage told a different story.

The video displayed Polo sounding really infuriated with the police as he sat in the backseat of a police vehicle, trying to get their attention. The officers then requested that he stop, but this only resulted in the situation escalating from here. Polo proceeded to argue with the authorities, calling them “broke” and questioning their motives as police officers. Stacia Mac, Polo’s mother and manager, recalled the police racially profiling her son during the incident. Luckily for Polo, the case was dismissed, and he only had to attend mandatory anger management classes as a result.
