Swizz Beatz and Narcos creator Chris Brancato are expanding their partnership into podcasting, film, and television.
Their collaboration, now official, builds on years of mutual trust and creative chemistry. Brancato has long enlisted Beatz’s talent for scoring his shows, including Godfather of Harlem and the new crime series Hotel Cocaine.
Beatz also serves as a consulting producer on Brancato’s upcoming project The Westies. Both describe their synergy as rare and energizing, rooted in a shared commitment to bold, inclusive storytelling.
At 46, Swizz Beatz remains a defining figure in hip-hop. His production credits include DMX’s “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem” and Jay-Z’s Grammy-winning “On to the Next One.”
In 2020, he and Timbaland created Verzuz, the quarantine-era rap battle series that celebrated hip-hop’s legacy and reached millions. After selling the platform to Triller, they later reacquired it and secured a distribution deal with Elon Musk’s social network X. Beatz also continues to surprise fans, recently becoming a dedicated investor in professional camel racing.
In festival news, the All Things Go music festival will debut its first international edition in Toronto on October 4–5. The event, known for spotlighting women and non-binary artists, began in Washington, D.C., in 2014 and expanded to New York in 2023.
This year, both cities will extend to three-day events. Toronto’s launch, produced in partnership with Live Nation Women, comes shortly after the New York edition, which features Doechii, Clairo, and Lucy Dacus.
Meanwhile, Create Music Group has entered a joint venture with Ty Dolla $ign and Shawn Barron’s EZMNY Records. Barron, who signed Ty to Atlantic Records over a decade ago, has since built EZMNY with a roster that includes Leon Thomas, Bizzy Crook, and rjtheweirdo. “Partnering with Create takes our artist-first approach to the next level,” Barron said.
Finally, former Citi CMO Jennifer Breithaupt and ex-McCann Worldgroup president Suzanne Powers have launched a brand strategy agency called All&. Focused on campaign design and organizational consulting, the agency aims to align brand identity with authentic storytelling.
