Tamar Braxton is clapping back with receipts — and a Cash App handle — after Mendeecees Harris unveils the validity of his marriage to Yandy Smith and weeks of being dragged into one of Love & Hip Hop’s messiest scandals.
The singer found herself at the center of online outrage after blogger Funky Dineva accused her of secretly seeing reality star Mendeecees Harris. Dineva claimed he witnessed the pair “sneaking and dealing” behind the back of Harris’ longtime partner, Yandy Smith.
The allegation spread quickly and sparked backlash, with critics branding Braxton a “homewrecker.” Braxton denied the claims and threatened legal action, but the damage lingered.
The storyline took a dramatic turn on Dec. 26, when Harris finally addressed the rumors during an interview on Yung Joc & The Streetz Morning Takeover. He denied any romantic involvement with Braxton. However, his explanation stunned fans even more.
Harris confirmed his relationship with Yandy had ended and revealed they were never legally married. Despite a televised wedding special in 2015 and a vow renewal in Dubai two years later, he said no marriage license was ever signed.
“We was never legally married, so we’re not getting a divorce,” Harris said. He added that they have been separated for over a year.
Tamar Braxton Demands CashApp Payments After Mendeecees Harris Reveals Split From Yandy Smith
Harris explained the decision as strategic. He claimed the choice helped protect assets while he faced mounting legal fines. According to him, the marriage storyline existed “for entertainment purposes only.”
The admission rocked longtime viewers who watched the relationship unfold across multiple seasons. Social media erupted, with fans accusing the franchise of blurring reality and performance. Harris, however, appeared relieved, noting they would avoid a legal fight over assets.
For Braxton, Harris’ comments brought a sense of vindication. With confirmation that he was single when the rumors surfaced, she flipped the narrative. On Friday, the “Love and War” singer took to Instagram Stories and announced she was “accepting all apologies.”
She shared her Cash App handle and posted a tongue-in-cheek “price list” tied to the insults thrown her way. Each disparaging label came with a suggested payment.
Some users found the move hilarious. Others argued Harris should have spoken sooner. “The only person who owes her anything is Mendeecees,” one commenter wrote.
The controversy hit as Braxton promoted her Heartbreak Retrograde EP. She previously called the rumors “hurtful and completely untrue,” stressing that public gossip affects children too.
While the marriage may have been fictional, the fallout is real — and Tamar Braxton made sure the bill came due.
