Hip hop podcast host Taxstone has been found guilty of manslaughter for the 2016 shooting at Irving Plaza that killed Troy Ave’s bodyguard Ronald “Banga” McPhatter.

At a trail on Thursday (March 23), a New York State Supreme Court jury found Taxstone, whose real name is Daryl Campbell, guilty of manslaughter in the first degree, two counts of assault in the first degree, one count of assault in the second degree, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.

“Daryl Campbell was convicted of killing a man and shooting three others during a tragic and deadly confrontation in a packed New York City music venue,” Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg said in a statement. “In addition to seriously injuring his rival and killing his rival’s bodyguard, Mr. Campbell shot innocent bystanders and put hundreds of other lives at risk. We will vigorously prosecute anyone who commits this type of deadly violence.”

The incident took place backstage at T.I.’s 2016 Irving Plaza concert in New York City following a confrontation between Campbell and his rival Troy Ave, who is a fellow NYC rapper. Campbell produced a gun and shot at McPhatter, hitting him in the chest. Troy Ave and two others were wounded.
