Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye is using his talents for a good cause, taking his efforts abroad to support global crisis relief.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday (July 17), the “Blinding Lights” artist unveiled the flyer for the one-night-only spectacular, held in Sáo Paulo. According to People, The Weeknd is set to rock Brazil with a never-before-seen show at the massive Estaìdio MorumBIS. Produced by Live Nation, this one-of-a-kind performance promises a unique experience for fans.
True to form, the 34-year-old star is teaming up with the U.N. World Food Programme to channel funds from the São Paulo show into the XO Humanitarian Fund. This partnership aims to provide vital aid to those impacted by the global hunger crisis.
Ticket sales for the event – which mark the Canadian singer-songwriter’s return to the massive venue – go live on on July 25 at 10 a.m. BST on The Weeknd’s tour website.

In April, the Goodwill Ambassador donated $2 million from his XO Humanitarian Fund, to supply 18 million loaves of bread to families in Gaza. Partnering with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), th donation provided 1,500 metric tons of fortified wheat flour, benefiting over 157,000 Palestinians.
The move followed an earlier contribution of $2.5 million in December 2023, which provided 820 metric tons of food parcels, sustaining 173,000 Palestinians for two weeks.
The singer’s philanthropy is evident globally. In January, he donated to the Los Angeles-based School on Wheels, aiding over 1,000 homeless students. His charitable efforts extend to Ethiopia, Lebanon, Covid-19 relief, and more.
