Last night (Nov. 19), a group of influencers and journalists braced the cold, and took a trip down memory lane with The Diplomats as we took a tour through Harlem to visit some of their favorite areas, and relive their tales growing up in the hood before success came rolling in.

It was like a breath of fresh air, and a beautiful moment seeing Cam’ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana and Freekey Zeekey together again to celebrate their successes, and share some of their humble beginnings as we drove past their childhood homes and told war stories.

On top of that, we got an exclusive first listen to their album Diplomatic Ties which is set to be released this Friday. Some of the standout tracks from the project include features from The LOX which was one of the rawest tracks on the project, to Anderson Paak which gave the project a fresh new feel, to Belly who shares his talent for making hits on their second single “On God.” Fans could expect a mix of the nostalgic Dipset sounds powered by the Heatmakerz, mixed with some modern sounds of today. Don’t worry ya’ll not the mumble rap sound.

The crew shared some chopped cheese with everyone one the bus, along with some other goodies throughout the night. Cam’ron took us on a tour to the old playground he used to hang out at, then Juelz Santana, and Jim Jones pointed out some of their old hang outs and how gentrification has changed Harlem today as Freekey Zeekey danced the night away.

It was a good night full of stories, nostalgia, and good music. Be sure to listen to Diplomatic Ties Friday, November 23.
